Back to the routine

Whether you’re going back to school, university, work etc I understand that it’s a hard time. After a good summer of relax we have to go back to stress and anxiety.

So we can say that it’s time to try all the coping skills that you have.

First of all I’d like to say that grades aren’t as important as we say. Yes, we have to get good marks in order to achieve future opportunities but it won’t define us as an individual. We’re a lot more than our grades, we just have to do our best and even if it’s just a pass with a low mark it’s okay.

We need to put our mental health as a priority, we can’t prioritize our academic work before mental health because, without it, we won’t be able to function properly and do our best.

I know that those who have a mental disorder like me, stress can be a huge trigger for us. What we need to do is try to control it and not letting it become a big ball full or problems. What works for me is to be really organized so I know when to do all my work. It’s also helpful if you do a schedule to see when you have free time and what are you going to do then.

Try not to let anxiety and stress rule our day or it’ll be so hard to cope with our daily work.

I know you can do it, you just need a bit of time to learn what coping mechanisms work for you and you’ll be able to do your work much better.

We need to try to take care of our mental health, it’s really more important than anything else like grades, even if it doesn’t feel like it
